1971 – 1976 Training in the subject trumpet
under Herbert Kamprath at the Musikschule Johann Sebastian Bach Potsdam
1977 – 1979 Training as brass instrument builder
Training with the firm: Meister Albert Wolfram, Markneukirchen, Member of the VEB Sinfonia
1979 – 1987 Worked as brass instrument builder in the firm mentioned above.
1980 – 1986 Parallel to this employment, preparation for the examination as Master, and additional artisanal training under Erhard Sawatzki, Markneukirchen (further internships with: Meister Host Voigt, Markneukirchen; Meister Johannes Scherzer, Markneukirchen; Meister Martin Peter, Markneukirchen; Meister Edgar Knopf, Markneukirchen)
1982 Master Exam successfully completed to become Master craftsman as brass instrument builder
1987 Opened his own craft workshop in Potsdam
1999 Participation in trumpet workshop under Dave Monette in Portland OR, USA
2002 Further education: Acoustic and brass instrument construction / Training in the BIAS system at the Universität für Musik in Wien, Institut für Wiener Klangstil
2021 Passing on the business to his son Lukas but still working for the company

1996 – 2004 Training in the subject trombone under Herbert Kamprath and Dieter Bethke as well as training in music theory at the Musikschule Potsdam
2007 – 2010 Training as brass instrument builder
Training firm: JA-Musik GmbH (B&S GmbH today) Markneukirchen
2010 – 2012 Work as brass instrument builder with the above mentioned firm
2011 Preparation for the Master examination with, among others,
Frank Dreier Markneukirchen, Wilhelm Schubert Markneukirchen, Martin Schmidt Potsdam
2012 Successful completion of Master Exam as brass instrument Master craftsman
2012 Began employment as brass instrument builder in Potsdam
2015 Participation in the Yamaha Technician Guild
2021 Continuing the workshop in Potsdam as company owner
